Callaway REVA Complete Set for Women – 2020 Review

Please note: This set is different than the Callaway “Big Bertha” REVA golf clubs for women. This is the REVA complete set. No Big Bertha here, as far as I can tell. Different clubs all together.

Let’s be straight about this: The Callaway REVA 11-piece complete set for women is an INSANELY high quality complete set of clubs – from driver all the way down to the putter. Take the most expensive Callaway golf clubs on the market (driver, woods, hybrids, irons. wedge, putter) and put the REVA logos on there and throw it in a high quality bag… that’s what this set is composed of.

Appearance

The first thing to mention with the Callaway REVA line of clubs is that you will get not only the driver, but also a fairway wood, hybrids, irons, wedges, and putter.

These clubs looks slick in their appearance. They have designed these clubs with women in mind from the very start.

These clubs come with lightweight shafts which, according to Callaway, means you have increased speed through the swing. They do certainly feel more comfortable while they aren’t too bottom heavy either thanks to the weight distribution and center of gravity.

Performance

For performance, there are a few main areas to focus on when it comes to the Callaway REVA golf clubs for women.

Callaway has also come out and stated that the driver in this set has a higher MOI (moment of inertia) than other drivers. This is cool as it means there’s less twisting of the driver head throughout the swing and strike. Ultimately, it leads to longer, straighter drives on a more consistent basis.

Turning to the fairway woods, the Callaway REVA models have a larger head than normal while they also come with a shallower face. This provides a larger strike zone bringing with it a greater sense of control.

Then, there’s the hybrids in the range. They come in various loft angles which are also higher than a conventional iron. The offset of the club head is also larger than normal, and this results in the face being more square on at the point of impact. Thanks to this, you produce straighter shots than before.

Of course, we need to also talk about the performance of the irons. They come with a deeper center of gravity than other models, and the intention here is to make it easier for you to get the ball up off the ground. They also come with a tungsten core which provides a greater sense of stability in the club, so the concept here is that you should be able to hit accurate shots time and time again.

The putter is a #7 model Odyssey putter, which has great reviews and lots of forgiveness. It’s an easy-to-align mallet style putter. I really like the blue and silver design, too. It’s a personal favorite of mine, but everyone is a little different when it comes to putters.

What’s clear as you work through the various clubs in this set is that each grouping of clubs has been well thought out and developed with certain key features in mind. From a performance point of view, this set is seriously impressive.

Who it’s Best For

Here’s one of the cool things in connection to this Callaway REVA line, it’s pretty much suitable for all women of all abilities. It has the forgiveness that newer golfers need, but the distance and control that better golfers are looking for.

However, the price will most likely put this set out of the want lists for most golfers. It’s fair to say this set is great for someone with lots of money available to spend on clubs.

Better Value Alternative

The only real issue when it comes to the Callaway REVA set is that it’s not the cheapest out there. Of course, you know you are buying quality clubs since they are manufactured by Callaway, but not everybody wants to splash as much cash. However, you also don’t want to really dilute the advantages that these clubs are going to give you.

So, there’s a better value choice out on the market for 2020 if you are tight on money right now.

If you are newer to golf and still want a brand new set, then the Callaway Strata 11-piece set could suffice. Strata is simply an offset of Callaway’s brand anyway. The Strata set will not going to give you quite the same driving length and control as the Callaway REVA, but when you are starting out it’s all about getting comfortable with your swing and trying to hit the fairway. At this point, attempting to achieve longer drives shouldn’t be a factor.

This set is perfect for those with a higher handicap and can still offer significant distance with driving while also being very forgiving.

Overall Verdict

This Callaway REVA line of clubs for women is impressive. They look amazing. They are well-balanced with perfect weight distribution, and will certainly help cut some shots off your game. However, if you are worried about the price (and if you are new to golf) then our alternative is going to also produce some of the same results as REVA at a fraction of the price.
