  • 2020 Complete Set Reviews, Golf for Women

If you are a lady golfer looking for a complete set of golf clubs, Tour Edge can be a great place to start. Tour Edge makes some of the most budget-friendly quality clubs on the market. Where other companies put together cheap sets that won’t hold up, Tour Edge just doesn’t do that. When it comes to the Tour Edge Lady Edge Silver 11 Piece Set, you get plenty of golf clubs for a great deal. We will give you our honest opinions on this set, who it is for, and an alternative in case you don’t think this is the best option for your game.

Set Composition

Many manufacturers will call something a 14 piece set, but it is seven clubs and seven head covers. Ok, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but if you have been shopping for clubs for a little while, you probably understand what we mean. This Ladies Tour Edge Silver 11 Piece set consists of . . .

    • Driver
    • 3 Wood
    • 5 Wood
    • 6 Hybrid
    • 7 Hybrid
    • 8-PW
    • SW
    • Putter
    • Cart Bag

This is a true 11 piece set. You will not get any headcovers with this golf set, but you can pick those out on your own. As far as the quality of the set composition, we wish it included the seven iron instead of the seven hybrid. The perfect set combination for a woman is usually the five hybrid, six hybrid, and then the 7-PW. However, this set is not far off.

The fact that these irons start at the eight iron makes this a much better fit for the brand new golfer. Truthfully, this is a beginner set.

Technology

The Driver featured in the Tour Edge Lady Edge Silver set is a 460cc Titanium Driver with a high loft. Although high lofted Drivers will cost you a bit of distance, in the beginning, they are best for maximum forgiveness and better launch angle.

The fairway woods are stainless steel and have a low center of gravity to get a great launch angle off the fairway. The hybrids are natural to hit, and the irons are a cavity back design. These are all great features for a beginner golf set.

This Ladies Tour Edge Silver set also comes with a golf cart bag that is quite nice looking. The only thing we don’t love about it is the light color could potentially get dirty if you play in an area with a lot of dust or dirt in the air.

The putter that comes with this complete set is a mallet design that we love for a beginner. It will be more forgiving and more comfortable to control distance than a blade putter.

Negatives

Overall the Ladies Tour Edge Silver complete set is a good value for a beginner golf set of clubs. If you are planning on taking up the game but think you may play nine holes once a month or something very minimal and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a set, there is another option. The Tour Edge also makes an eight-piece complete set that is considerably less expensive and will probably be more than enough equipment for the brand new golfer looking to pick up the game as a hobby.

Lower Priced Alternative: Tour Edge Ladies 8 Piece Set

The actual components of these clubs are going to be the same as the 11 piece set. This complete golf set will feature tons of forgiveness, easy to launch clubs, and the right amount of distance for a complete beginner set.

The Tour Edge 8 Piece set comes with

    • Driver
    • 3 Wood
    • 6 Hybrid
    • 8 Iron
    • Pitching Wedge
    • Sand Wedge
    • Putter
    • Golf Bag (lightweight stand bag)

As you can see, there is not nearly as much equipment included with the eight-piece set, but it gives the new golfer everything they need to get started in the game. Keep in mind that the golf bag is considerably smaller and more lightweight with the Tour Edge set than it is with the 11 piece. If you plan on walking and carrying or pulling your bag along with you, the Tour Edge 8 piece set may make more sense. The eight-part set is available in either a silver and black option or a silver and purple option. Either one looks fine and should hold over time.

Recap

If you are a beginner golfer, you can’t go wrong with either one of these sets. Be realistic about how often you will play. If you think you are going to be a die-hard golfer looking to break 100 within the first few months and win the club championship next summer, you may want to go for the 11 piece option!
