About Bill Bales

For the last thirty years, William Bales has worked in a leadership role in the development, marketing, and sales of computer game software and simulators. As CEO and co-founder of Friendly Software Corporation Bales grew a small startup to become the world's leading developer of PC golf game simulations, including the development of Microsoft Golf 1998 and 1999 Editions, Greg Norman Ultimate Challenge Golf, the Myrtle Beach Tour, and the Chrysler Tour. As founder and CEO of AboutGolf, LLC, Bales grew a startup into the world's leading provider of indoor golf simulators, including development of the de facto most advanced imaging technology for golf performance monitoring. AboutGolf also acquired Henry-Griffitts in 2008--the world's seminal force in club fitting and accurate club building. In 2007 AboutGolf was placed on the highly prestigious INC 500 list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America, listed as the 21st fastest growing private tech company. Bales is widely recognized as an authority in the business of golf simulation.
